From the Founder: Gov. Howard Dean: “All Physicians Should Be on Salary”
During my July 27th CNBC debate with Howard Dean, he concluded by saying that all physicians in this country should be on salary.
Howard Dean, the former Governor of Vermont and DNC Chairman has been a key spokesperson for the current version of the healthcare reform bill. In particular, the Governor has advocated for a “public option”, stating that healthcare reform without a public option is not worth doing. The Governor’s comments have set off a debate among policy makers on whether or not there can be successful healthcare reform without driving down costs by altering the structure by which physicians are compensated and making all physicians salaried employees.
The media has asked the Sermo physician community to weigh-in on the debate.
