UI Designer

Responsibilities

• Visual and UI design for Sermo’s on-line physician community and client product lines.
• Visual design and production for all aspects of Sermo’s user interface including visual style, iconography, menus, and other graphical elements.
• UI design responsibilities include creation of user stories, definition of use cases, design and specification of workflows and information architecture, and creation of UI specifications.
• Assist developers in UI implementation.
• Key member of the team in Sermo’s Agile development environment.
• Help conduct and respond to usability tests.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of visual design experience, including multiple Web-based projects. Please submit your portfolio.
• 10+ years of UI design experience, with 5+ years of experience in UI Design for the Web including substantive AJAX-based
  design. Experience designing social networking sites is a plus.
• Highly developed design sensibilities including knowledge of color theory, typography and branding.
• B.A. or B.Sc. or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to create effective UI design from loosely defined requirements.
• Deep knowledge of user interface design principles.
• Strong CSS knowledge. DHTML and AJAX implementation skills are a plus.
• Strong oral, visual and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-changing, startup environment. Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
