Unusual Rash

60 y/o man presents with 5 days of this. He denies new soaps, detergents, colognes, or clothes. No outdoor activities except he was outdoors in the Bay Area recently. He also spent time with his 2 yr old grandson recently, who is fine. No h/o eczema or atopy. The rash is mildly pruritic. It extends across his back and legs, including his palms. It blanches on the chest, but much less so over the calves. It is not palpable.
Any ideas?
