Gives community access to over 75 leading peer-reviewed medical journals and more than 55 medical conferences across 30 specialties
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. and NORWALK, Conn. — Starting today SERMO, the largest online community exclusive to physicians, will be providing SERMO members curated, daily medical news across 30+ specialties to stay abreast of and discuss the latest developments in medicine. The new service is "powered by" HealthDay, the leading producer and syndicator of evidence-based health and medical news.
SERMO physicians actively discuss and debate topics in the news, from healthcare reform to new treatments and therapies. HealthDay's Physician's Briefing service will complement user-generated content and stimulate further conversation by bringing in timely and concise summaries from more than 75 peer-reviewed medical journals, over 55 medical conferences and all major government approvals and announcements.
"Physicians' jobs are more demanding than ever, and as a result, they have less time to stay informed on the latest developments in healthcare and medicine," said Jon Michaeli, VP Marketing and Membership for SERMO. "Going forward, SERMO members no longer need to visit a separate website for their daily medical news. And because HealthDay news will be published in SERMO's standard post format, unlike on conventional news sites, SERMO members will be able to directly discuss the news articles with their colleagues in line." "The Physician's Briefing news service was designed to quickly provide physicians with timely summaries of the most important journal articles as well as developments from medical society conferences. News is the biggest driver of social media interactions and we anticipate the Physician's Briefing news will be well received in the SERMO community," said Dan McKillen, President and CEO of HealthDay.
US physicians, who are licensed MDs and DOs, can sign up for SERMO for free at www.SERMO.com.

SERMO also provides a way to target and engage physicians by providing access to its community for clients that need fast, actionable insights into treatments, medications and devices.
