What should I tell my care team before I take this medication?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
-Dehydration
-Frequently drink alcohol or use other substances
-Heart disease
-High or low levels of electrolytes, such as magnesium, potassium, or sodium in your blood
-History of fainting
-Irregular heartbeat or rhythm
-Kidney disease
-Seizures
-Stomach or intestine problems
-Trouble swallowing
-An unusual or allergic reaction to sodium picosulfate, magnesium oxide, anhydrous citric acid, other medications, dyes, or preservatives
-Pregnant or trying to get pregnant
-Breastfeeding
What may interact with this medication?
-Alcohol
-Certain antibiotics, such as ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, tetracycline
-Certain medications for blood pressure, heart disease, irregular heartbeat
-Certain medications for depression, anxiety, or other mental health conditions
-Certain medications for seizures
-Diuretics
-Iron supplements
-NSAIDS, medications for pain and inflammation, such as ibuprofen or naproxen
-Other laxatives
-Penicillamine

What should I watch for while using this medication?
Talk to your care team about how to prepare for your procedure. You may need to change your diet several days before the procedure. It is important to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of clear liquids, such as sports drinks, apple juice, and water. Ask your care team when you should stop drinking and eating before the procedure. Tell them if you are unable to complete the regimen as directed.
This medication may affect your coordination, reaction time, or judgment. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you. Sit up or stand slowly to reduce the risk of dizzy or fainting spells. Drinking alcohol with this medication can increase the risk of these side effects.
