I’ve been enjoying using the app. I really like being able to read real clinical cases and see how other doctors approach them. The discussions are interesting and I’ve learned a lot from different perspectives. The interface is easy to use, and it’s nice to have a place where healthcare professionals can share knowledge and experiences (btw the humor is an extra bonus).
For me, Sermo is all about the community. I love everything about Sermo; the content, surveys, discussions. One of my favorite things is reading Enbastet’s medicolegal posts! I always learn something on this platform.
I appreciate and participate in Sermo surveys which cover a broad range of medical subject matter relevant to the clinician; as well as having the benefit of remuneration for completing them. I also enjoy the Weekly Promo and Poll of the Week that often provide topics that I found of some interest and occasionally intriguing.

I use Sermo primarily for surveys, curbside consult, and polls of the week. I enjoy how this site allows me to meet specialists to ask questions or when I’m stuck in a patient case.
In order to be up-to-date with my medical knowledge I feel I have to constantly revise. Sermo helps me with that. I like going through the case reviews. Also posting my own is a good exercise. And then there are the surveys of course.
By assigning a specific drug rating, it forces a reflection of performance broadly across a number of elements. It is a valued tool to compare personal assessment with peer summative assessment. With regard to impact on treatment decision making, it does provide influence when personal experience is limited.
I deposit my earnings into a separate investment account. It’s only a little each time but with repetition and returns it’s turning out nicely.
Going onto Sermo is one of the “highlights” of the day for me.

I have been a member of Sermo for a few long years – during this time, I made more friends, I learned a lot from clinical cases, I got up to date with new medical information, and of course, I made money doing surveys …a lot.
I posted a case of an unknown oral lesion for a dentist friend who could not get the answer from his own reviews. Almost immediately a Sermo member provided the diagnosis. Tapping into the communal smarts was pretty impressive.
I will use my earnings on the next trip!
