Kantar Health and Sermo enter exclusive research partnership

Kantar Health will access Sermo’s physician community to provide business insights and strategic recommendations to pharma/biotech, diagnostic and device companies. The partnership will also serve as a foundation to enhance and develop new syndicated market information services.

Kantar Health, a leading healthcare-focused global consultancy and marketing insights company, and Sermo, the largest online physician community in the U.S., have formed a partnership to provide research services to life sciences companies.

As Sermo’s exclusive external research and insights partner, Kantar Health will access Sermo’s physician community to provide business insights and strategic recommendations to pharma/biotech, diagnostic and device companies. The partnership will also serve as a foundation to enhance and develop new syndicated market information services. Sermo’s members include more than 125,000 US-based physicians, representing 68 specialties.

“Our partnership with Sermo will strengthen Kantar Health’s ability to provide our clients with unique insights into the broadest range of patient conditions and disease management issues,” says Lynnette Cooke, CEO, Kantar Health.

“Adding authoritative content sources to the community reinforces Sermo’s goal of creating active physician-to-physician dialogue and collaboration,” Sermo CEO Tim Davenport says. “For example, Kantar Health’s leading position in oncology and the content they provide will further stimulate vibrant community discussion, the perspectives and learnings from which will benefit various constituents, including drug and device manufacturers, researchers, and other health professionals.”

Cooke adds, “During this time of turmoil in the healthcare marketplace, the industry needs to listen more to its stakeholders. Our collaboration will support that objective and in doing so provide meaningful guidance to help us all navigate through these challenging times.”

Sermo and Kantar Health’s collaboration will kick off during the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) conference June 1-5 in Chicago. Physicians can register to access exclusive ASCO content at www.Sermo.com/asco2012.
