Dr. Travis Hiles is a board-certified anesthesiologist with 18 years of experience in private practice. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kansas, followed by a Master of Arts in Biological Anthropology from the State University of New York at Binghamton. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville.
Dr. Hiles began his career with Ozark Anesthesia Associates in Springfield, MO, where he practiced for eight years and served on the board of directors from 2009 to 2015. Since 2015, he has been a partner at Anesthesia Associates of Kansas City. His clinical practice focuses on general anesthesia, with additional interests in quality improvement policy development, trauma and thoracic anesthesia and acute pain management. He also currently serves as co-chairman of the Perioperative Medicine Special Interest Group for the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA).
Outside of his clinical and leadership responsibilities, Dr. Hiles enjoys traveling, bicycling, reading non-fiction, snow skiing, and stand-up paddleboarding. Among his recent travel highlights are visiting Norway in Fall 2024 and exploring 22 U.S. national parks. He is also a passionate supporter of Kansas City sports and enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
