Dr. Tucker is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Section of Nephrology at Baylor College of Medicine. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from California State University, Fullerton; a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Columbia University; and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences.
Dr. Tucker completed his internal medicine residency at Indiana University and a nephrology fellowship at Yale University. He is board-certified in both internal medicine and nephrology and has been recognized with multiple teaching and patient care awards, including the John McGovern Outstanding Teacher Award and the Early Career Faculty Award for Excellence in Patient Care.
Dr. Tucker is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and serves as a peer reviewer for leading medical journals, including JAMA and the Annals of Internal Medicine. His research and clinical expertise focus on electrolyte disorders, acid-base physiology, and chronic kidney disease, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. Dr. Tucker also directs the renal course for Baylor College of Medicine medical students. He is engaged in patient care, leading nephrology clinics and serving as a consultant for the Undiagnosed Disease Network.
In his spare time, Dr. Tucker enjoys playing poker, chess, and learning languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, and ASL.
