Peter Kirk is the CEO of SERMO. Since launching the company in 2000, Peter has grown the organization into an enterprise with over 200 employees in 8 global offices and a global network of close to two million healthcare professionals.
Under Peter’s leadership, SERMO membership has increased over 300 percent in the past two years and has become the #1 Social Network for Doctors globally. Peter has been a true thought leader and innovator in medical crowdsourcing, helping advance heath outcomes across the globe by allowing doctors to work effortlessly in teams at scale. The social network now has close to 800,000 physicians from over 90 different specialties and sub-specialties. SERMO is available in over 150 different countries.
Peter holds a Masters in Finance from London Business School.

Kashem Miah is the VP of Marketing at SERMO, leading digital strategy with a focus on global community and content marketing. Kashem leverages physician insights, community engagements and product features to increase physician activity and growth on SERMO.
Prior to joining SERMO, Kashem spent over a decade at startups, agencies and tech companies leading global customer acquisition, content marketing, digital strategy, and community. As a native New Yorker, Kashem enjoys exploring his own city and is an avid collector of sneakers. Kashem is a graduate of Binghamton University.
At SERMO, the leading global social network for doctors, Osnat heads corporate strategy, marketing and community development. She leverages market opportunities, revenue drivers, customer insights, product development, and partnerships to drive user and revenue growth. She is responsible for corporate and commercial marketing, physician engagement, public relations, social media and SERMO’s international expansion.
Prior to joining the company, Osnat founded a strategic marketing consultancy where she re-positioned biotech and healthcare brands and companies, and helped change organizations’ business trajectories. Osnat also brings a decade of pharmaceutical brand management and marketing experience from her experiences at Amgen and Bristol Myers Squibb. Prior to that, she held both PR and market research consulting positions in the healthcare and biotech field.
Osnat graduated with a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Montreal.
Alex joined SERMO in October 2015, and currently manages IT, Operations, Market Research Engineering, Product Management, and Customer Support for SERMO’s global community of doctors. He is tasked with delivering technological and organizational innovation while respecting the regulatory, compliance, legal and business requirements of both a modern social media platform and a traditional market research business.
Prior to joining SERMO, Alex held numerous technology and customer facing leadership positions in the SaaS space, including positions at Lanyon (now Cvent), Active.com & MessageLabs (now Symantec Security Cloud). He enjoys the challenge of balancing business requirements with technological advancement while building a talent driven organization.
Giles joined SERMO in April 2014 as General Counsel responsible for legal and compliance.
Previously he has worked for Bracewell & Giuliani LLP in Houston Texas as a corporate and M&A specialist working in the energy sector. For over a decade Giles worked for Acxiom Corporation, a global leader in offline/online marketing services, in the US and latterly as European Counsel responsible for legal and privacy matters for all of Acxiom’s European operations.
Recently he has been responsible for structuring and executing various strategic projects including; a $15m French asset trade sale, a Dutch MBO, selling a 1000+ seat UK contact centre to a VC and a US/Dutch tax restructuring.
Giles was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1998 and is a member of the Texas and Louisiana State bars, he is dual UK/US national.
Akash Degan is Vice President Business Development - Europe, leading SERMO’s European commercial team from their offices in London, Barcelona & Vilnius.
Akash joined SERMO in 2012 as an Account Manager before successive promotions to Account Director and Senior Account Director. He previously worked at Kantar Operations, having begun his career with UK medical market research agency Gillian Kenny Associates.
Akash holds a BSc in International Business and Modern Languages from Aston University alongside a Postgraduate Certificate in Market and Social Research from the MRS.
