Is Sermo legit? Your questions, answered

Yes. Sermo is a legitimate platform that any healthcare professional can join for free. Members’ credentials are verified, and HCPs across professions may qualify for paid surveys based on their expertise and each study’s requirements.

You won’t qualify for every survey you’re invited to, because most studies screen for a specific audience. Below, we cover membership, payments, screening, and privacy.

About Sermo

What is Sermo?

Sermo is a global network of more than 1.5 million healthcare professionals across 150 countries. It connects HCPs with paid healthcare market research and runs dedicated communities for physicians, nurses, APPs, and pharmacists.

Any HCP can join for free, subject to professional verification. Residents, dentists, veterinarians, and other HCPs can also join and may qualify for research. Membership does not guarantee eligibility for every study.

Earnings

Does Sermo really pay for surveys?

Yes. Sermo pays honoraria for eligible participation in healthcare market research, including online medical surveys and interviews. Each invitation shows the reward, so you can decide before you start.

Invitation frequency, qualification, and earnings vary. Joining Sermo does not guarantee a particular income.

Screening

Why might I be screened out of a survey?

Most Sermo studies start with a few screener questions written by the research sponsor, usually a pharmaceutical company. They check whether you fit a specific audience, such as physicians who treat a particular condition.

Sermo targets invitations using your profile and past qualification outcomes, so an invitation means you’re a likely match, not a guaranteed one. Being screened out doesn’t reflect on your qualifications. It means the study needs a narrower group.

Screener time is generally unpaid. Keeping your specialty, location, and career status current helps your invitations fit, and if a screenout seems unreasonable, you can send the study details to Support.

Privacy

How does Sermo use my information?

Sermo collects information to manage membership, verify professional details, and administer research and payments. Its Privacy Policy explains what information it collects, how it uses and shares it, and the choices available to members.

The policy describes sharing with service providers and, in certain circumstances, business partners. Review it alongside any study-specific disclosures before participating.

Your account settings also let you manage your profile visibility and communications. Consider what you choose to share in discussions, and avoid posting information that could identify a patient.

Read the Sermo Privacy Policy.

Payments

How do I withdraw my earnings?

Go to the Surveys area of your account, select Withdraw, and choose a payment method. Enter the amount, review the details, and confirm.

Follow the withdrawal guide.

Member reviews

“I appreciate and participate in Sermo surveys which cover a broad range of medical subject matter relevant to the clinician; as well as having the benefit of remuneration for completing them. I also enjoy the Weekly Promo and Poll of the Week that often provide topics that I found of some interest and occasionally intriguing.”

“I love everything about Sermo; the content, surveys, discussions. One of my favorite things is reading Enbastet’s medicolegal posts! I always learn something on this platform.”
