Kristalose is a brand of lactulose for oral solution, which is a synthetic disaccharide in crystal form to be reconstituted before oral use. It acts as a colonic acidifier, promoting laxation. The formulation contains less than 0.3 grams each of galactose and lactose per 10 grams of lactulose.
How should I use this medication?
Dissolve contents of the packet in half a glass (4 ounces) of water. Shake well before using. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Take your doses at regular intervals. Do not take your medication more often than directed.
Talk to your care team about the use of this medication in children. Special care may be needed.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.
