Menactra is an intramuscular vaccine containing serogroup A, C, Y, and W-135 polysaccharide antigens conjugated to diphtheria toxoid protein. It is a sterile liquid formulated for administration as a 0.5 mL dose. This vaccine solution includes sodium phosphate buffered isotonic sodium chloride and may contain residual formaldehyde. Menactra is developed without preservatives or adjuvants.
How should I use this medication?
This medication is injected into a muscle. It is given by your care team.
A copy of Vaccine Information Statements will be given before each vaccination. Be sure to read this information carefully each time. This sheet may change often.
Talk to your care team about the use of this medication in children. While it may be prescribed for children as young as 9 months for selected conditions, precautions do apply.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.
