MenQuadfi is a sterile injectable vaccine designed for intramuscular administration. It contains meningococcal capsular polysaccharide antigens from Groups A, C, W, and Y conjugated to tetanus toxoid protein. The formulation comes as a 0.5 mL clear, colorless solution, with each dose containing 10 micrograms of each meningococcal polysaccharide antigen linked to approximately 55 micrograms of tetanus toxoid. Key inactive ingredients include sodium chloride and sodium acetate, with no preservatives or adjuvants added.

How should I use this medication?

This medication is injected into a muscle. It is given by your care team.

A copy of Vaccine Information Statements will be given before each vaccination. Be sure to read this information carefully each time. This sheet may change often.

Talk to your care team about the use of this medication in children. While it may be prescribed for children as young as 9 months for selected conditions, precautions do apply.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.

What if I miss a dose?

Where should I keep my medication?

This vaccine is only given by your care team. It will not be stored at home.

What side effects may I notice from receiving this medication?

Side effects that you should report to your care team as soon as possible:

• Allergic reactions—skin rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
• Feeling faint or lightheaded

Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report these to your care team if they continue or are bothersome):

• Diarrhea
• General discomfort and fatigue
• Headache
• Irritability
• Muscle pain
• Pain, redness, or irritation at injection site

What should I tell my care team before I take this medication?

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

• Bleeding disorder
• Fever or infection
• History of Guillain-Barre syndrome
• Immune system problems
• An unusual or allergic reaction to diphtheria toxoid, meningococcal vaccine, latex, other vaccines, other medications, foods, dyes, or preservatives
• Pregnant or trying to get pregnant
• Breastfeeding

What may interact with this medication?

• Adalimumab
• Anakinra
• Certain medications for arthritis
• Infliximab
• Medications for organ transplant
• Medications to treat cancer
• Medications used during some procedures to diagnose a medical condition
• Other vaccines
• Steroid medications, such as prednisone or cortisone

What should I watch for while using this medication?

Report any side effects to your care team right away. Call your care team if you have any unusual symptoms within 6 weeks of getting this vaccine.

This vaccine may not protect from all meningitis infections.
