Omnipaque contains iohexol as its active ingredient, which is a nonionic radiographic contrast agent. It is available as a sterile, pyrogen-free injection and oral solution. The injection comes in five iodine concentrations and the oral solution in two iodine concentrations. Both formulations are colorless to pale yellow solutions, contain no preservatives, and are not made from gluten-containing grains.
How should I use this medication?
Take this medication by mouth. It is given by your care team in a hospital or clinic setting. Talk to your care team about the use of this medication in children. While it may be prescribed to children for selected conditions, precautions do apply.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once. NOTE: This medicine is only for you. Do not share this medicine with others.
