TIVICAY contains dolutegravir in the form of dolutegravir sodium, and it belongs to the class of HIV integrase strand transfer inhibitors (INSTIs). It is available as film-coated tablets in strengths equivalent to 10 mg, 25 mg, or 50 mg of dolutegravir free acid for oral administration, and as tablets for oral suspension equivalent to 5 mg of dolutegravir free acid. Key inactive ingredients include D-mannitol, microcrystalline cellulose, and povidone K29/32.
How should I use this medication?
Take this medication by mouth with water. You can take it with or without food. If it upsets your stomach, take it with food.
Talk to your pharmacist about when to take your medications. Some medications must be separated from this one by several hours.
For your therapy to work as well as possible, take each dose exactly as prescribed on the prescription label. Do not skip doses. Skipping doses can make the HIV virus resistant to this and other medications. Keep taking this therapy unless your care team tells you to stop.
