Oncologist CME with Association of Community Cancer Centers

Partnership will provide on-demand continuing medical education resources to member oncologists

New York, New York – February 10, 2020 – Sermo, the leading global social platform for physicians and largest healthcare data collection company, today announced a new content partnership with the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC), the leading education and advocacy organization for the cancer care community. The partnership will bring together Sermo’s platform of 800,000 verified physicians with ACCC’s continuing medical education (CME) content and videos.

ACCC’s suite of CME resources will now be featured on Sermo’s platform. The information will cover cancer-specific topics to help physicians support their patients’ treatment journey. This partnership comes just three months after Sermo announced its redesigned platform with native physician engagement and market data and insights opportunities for healthcare partners.

“In today’s challenging healthcare landscape, staying current through medical education is critical, especially in oncology,” said Peter Kirk, CEO of Sermo. “When designing our new platform, 7 out of 10 physicians polled felt that CME would be the most beneficial new type of content for Sermo to provide. That need, coupled with the increasing complexity of oncology care and increase in the number of oncologists on our platform, has brought us to this partnership. We’re excited that physicians will be able to access ACCC’s on-demand resources to maintain, develop and increase their knowledge, skills and professional performance in oncology.”

ACCC is a powerful community of more than 25,000 multidisciplinary practitioners and 2,100 cancer programs and practices nationwide that promote quality cancer care. Members rely on ACCC for education and advocacy support in adapting and responding to complex changes and challenges in the delivery of quality cancer care. ACCC provides resources on operations and management for programs and practices, reimbursement issues, policy and regulatory changes at the state and national levels, trends in cancer care, integrating new technologies and therapies and more.

“In 2020, ACCC will continue to expand its comprehensive skill-building educational offerings on topics most critical to cancer care delivery,” said Ali McBride, PharmD, MS, BCOP, President, Association of Community Cancer Centers. “We are thrilled that our CME resources will be readily available on Sermo’s contextually relevant platform that reaches verified physicians within the oncology care ecosystem.”
